Turbines for every scenario

We’re sure that you’ll love our original turbine design, with its high quality construction, clear purpose, and visibility. However, some turbines in very exposed locations have been damaged by exceptional circumstances like storms. In order to mitigate this risk we worked to implement a new turbine solution. The new, cylindrical turbine option is based on the turbines used to power off-shore buoys. It is therefore much more storm-resistant! Rugged and long-lasting, the new cylindrical turbine is also a good fit for isolated areas, where damage to the turbine is a bigger concern. We also recommend remote monitoring in such areas.

Installation

A concrete base needs to be installed by a competent builder and to a design specified by a structural engineer. This is typically 750mm x 750mm and at a depth of 500mm with a reinforced metal frame leaving 4 x M16 studs protruding out of the concrete to fasten the base to. A structural engineer should be consulted about the suitability of the ground, and it may be necessary to increase the foundations on their advice. The solar panels can be rotated to face south before being secured in place and the wind turbine is free to rotate at all times. It is advised you use our install engineers to install and commission the cabinet once the concrete has been installed.
